A remodel of a funky 1960's mountain home, the owners sought refuge from the wood paneling and dated details of their existing residence. A new kitchen, redesigned living space, stair, and entry, and a revised deck rail were on the agenda. On a low budget and armed with careful and considerate details, we expanded and updated the kitchen, opened up the stair, and installed resin panels at the handrail and guardrail to brighten the entry. On the exterior, the deck rail was replaced with steel supports and a cable system. The goals were basic: clean, bright, and simple.
