Three designs in the historic and flood-prone Shockoe Bottom district of Richmond, Virginia. A school (re) inhabits a former hydroelectric power plant on the James River. A memorial for Religious Freedom commemmorating the Religious Freedom Statute of 1786 (see image 1, left). Finally, a museum complements the memorial creating a public square and enhances Richmond's cultural district. These studies were done in 1998, back in the time of basswood, pulpboard, plaster models, and - gasp - leadholders.
