The Market Square project in the City of University Place, Washington, combines retail, entertainment, residential, and hospitality features in true mixed-use fashion. Anchored by a new CIty Hall, we provided design consultation for the retail storefronts and streetscapes. We produced several proposals for the design of the civic plaza, the city hall atrium, and the lighting and site design. Our responsibilities also included the identity, environmental graphics, and signage. Much of our proposal was inspired by the native cultural design language, local flora and fauna such as the rhododendron, and the world famous glass artisan community located in the Pacific Northwest.
